All plastic components on the Worksport product line use a proprietary mixture of PA66 plastic and nylon reinforcement. Our plastics are all tested to exceed 2000 (450lbs) Newton sheer strength, far exceeding OEM specifications. Our PA66N plastic components are Buckle Assemblies, Rear Latch Handles, Cross-Bar connectors, Hinges, Corners & Caps, and Latch Bases.

Woven nylon buckle strap The Worksport SC4 uses military-grade woven nylon straps and buckles to hold back your cover while driving with it folded up. The female components are direct-mounted with two 410 stainless steel austenitic screws, offering over 180,000lbs of tear strength.

The Worksport SC4 uses CE40,50, and 60 durometer EPDM rubber seals, conforming to ASTM D2000 OE specifications. Our tailgate fin seal resists fading, cracking and tearing abutting your tailgate for a snug all-weather seal. Our side seals use a proprietary double-sweep profile to conform to uneven bedside surfaces. Our front dust flap is undercut into our corner seals for a seamless and gapless seal that fits all front truck bed walls (bulkheads).

The Worksport SC4 uses 6063-T1-T6 grade aluminum alloy in all of its frame and front hook metals. All alloy extrusions are coated in a semi-gloss black epoxy-based paint that is durable and scratch-resistant.

​​The Worksport SC4 uses all-metal front hooks. Using 60603-T6 alloy extrusion, the hook exceeds 5000-newton sheer strength in tests. These hooks are coated in a medium durometer polymer to protect the connection point from damage and metal-to-metal corrosive contact.

The Worksport SC4 uses 420D/3 poly bonded sewing thread. Our thread is anti-wicking, protected against ultraviolet rays, and reinforced with one single spun Kevlar filament, making the Worksport SC4 thread stronger than OE specifications for convertible tops in OE (GA-//Generally Accepted) automotive specifications.
